Delta and National Taiwan University Joint R&D Center Unveiled

Delta Electronics and National Taiwan University jointly announced the establishment of the "Delta-NTU Joint Research & Development Center". Delta expects to invest more than 100 million yuan in research and development funds to create a forward-looking experimental field for the integration of virtual and real, with autonomous and sustainable development as its core concepts, focusing on electric vehicles, advanced artificial intelligence (AI), industrial In the fields of Internet of Things (IIoT) security and control, NTU will gather first-class R&D energy, deploy cutting-edge technologies, and jointly cultivate top R&D talents in line with international standards.

Guan Zhongmin, President of National Taiwan University, said that Delta Electronics is a leader in the global power electronics industry and has been actively investing in the research and development of forward-looking technologies for a long time. The establishment of the "Delta-NTU Joint R&D Center" integrates the R&D capabilities of both parties and joins forces to jointly enhance the global competitiveness of academia and industry. He expects that the R&D achievements of this center will not only inject innovative vitality into Taiwan's industry, but also have a profound impact on the sustainable development of the world.

Hai Yingjun, chairman of Delta, said that the academic status of National Taiwan University has an important influence in the world, especially the support of the university to Delta's various R&D projects, which has enabled Delta to get good progress and help in many R&D fields. The "Delta-Taiwan University Joint R&D Center" jointly established this time is expected to create a continuous innovation R&D environment. By cooperating with Delta's R&D personnel, it will cultivate students' both theoretical and practical abilities, and develop more new innovative advanced technology.

Que Zhike, president of the Delta Research Institute, also pointed out that following the foundation laid in previous years, a number of R&D projects have been started with National Taiwan University in 2021. Through the opening of the center, closer research cooperation is expected. The research theme planning also includes artificial intelligence, information and communication security, robotics, wireless technology and sensing, metaverse, etc. These researches complement the IoT services and solutions in the main development areas of Delta's business units. Cooperation with academia to deepen Delta's capabilities in forward-looking technology.

Yang Jialing, director of the Delta-NTU Joint R&D Center, said that the establishment of the "Delta-NTU Joint R&D Center" has enabled National Taiwan University to cooperate with Delta in both depth and breadth. The establishment of the experimental field is conducive to the implementation of technology, deepens the influence of research results, and creates a new pattern of industry-university cooperation. The center will closely integrate the R&D energies of both parties through short, medium and long-term technical blueprint planning, and connect with the world with the strength of technology pioneers.

The "Delta-NTU Joint R&D Center" brings together top research talents from the School of Electrical Engineering, School of Engineering, and other related institutes of National Taiwan University, and Delta Electronics' leading technologies in the fields of energy management, industrial automation, and electric vehicles. And create a forward-looking experimental field, including a sustainable garage for researching electric vehicle-related technologies, and a virtual-real integration laboratory with Makerspace, which is a rare scale for Taiwan's industry-university R&D centers. It is believed that under the joint cooperation of National Taiwan University and Delta, a new situation of forward-looking research and development in Taiwan's industry will be opened, and a future of sustainable development will be created together.
